Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D. HI) in support of his colleague, U.S. Senator Jon Tester’s (D. MT) re-election campaign:
Sen. Jon Tester (D. MT)
I wanted to send you a message today about my friend and colleague, Senator Jon Tester.
Jon represents the state of Montana in the U.S. Senate. Hawaii and Montana have more in common than you may know.
We both have large Native populations and expansive rural areas. We both have a vested interest in preserving public lands and the environment. And we are both proud that many Veterans and their families call our state home.
When it comes to these issues, I know I can count on Jon. He’s a farmer, he’s used to getting his hands dirty to get results. Jon is always willing to work across the aisle when it means finding solutions.
That makes him a great senator for Big Sky Country, a great colleague to work with, and great friend to have. But it also makes him a big target for President Trump and special interest groups, who are using shadowy super PACs to target him with ads. Polling has shown his race getting closer and closer. He needs a strong grassroots campaign to pay for all the yard signs, phone banks, events, travel, and everything else he needs to pull out a win in November, and to help the Democrats take back the Senate.
If you can, please consider contributing to help Jon meet his goal. Even $5 or $3 will do a lot of good.
Thank you in advance for helping Jon out.
